Dressing for a Wedding in the Sunshine

I made this dress for a client going to a wedding in a sunny climate. I loved it so much, I went back to buy extra fabric to make myself a dress. Oh don't hold your breathe I have many, many, many of these impulse buys, or should I say good intention buys. Never mind, even if I don't get round to making it for myself, I am sure someone will turn up wanting a dress from the fabric.  You may have noticed I have used the dress as my blog background. At least this way I can be seen to be wearing it, be it on my blog.

Christmas Morn by Claire Nixon

Cold frosty mornings
                                    Ice on window pain
Huddle under coats
                       keep the warmth in
                                                        Tiptoe down the stairs
all quiet and hushed
                                 barge through the door
                     to see what’s waiting for us.
A Christmas tree sparkling,
                                                multi coloured lights,
                                                                         large shiny baubles, and
                      an angel smiling with delight.

Paper chains, garlands
                                              bells, stars and balloons
                                                                                         dangling from the ceiling.
Pine from the tree,
                         fresh cooked bread, cakes,
                                                                  jam tarts and scones,

these are the scents waiting for us.
                                                    A coal fire burning
              warmth is in our hearts
singing along to carols
                                           on this cold and frosty morning.
This day may not be THE day,
                               but it is deep down in our hearts.

Tomorrow is another Day

Today is my birthday and I have received so many good wishes on Facebook, I am touched. This community is so so supportive, bearing in mind we don't even know each other, other than the odd post. The love from these well wisher have made my day.
WHY?
 I attend an interview today, I so wanted  this job, as it was just right and the money was right. But unfortunately I failed the first test as I had no idea how to work it out. However I felt I did well on the other two test. Coming home I opened my email to find pending post on Facebook, its been a long long time since I have received so many well wishes and it has made my day. As for the interview, well tomorrow is another day.
